Professor Richard Breen of Yale University, with Director Frances Ruane and a portrait of Dr Roy Geary, the first Director of the ESRI To mark the ESRI's fiftieth anniversary the Institute invited two eminent former ESRI researchers to present the Geary Lectures in 2010. The first Geary Lecture was given on 11 March 2010 by Professor Richard Breen (Yale), on the topic of 'Social Mobility and Education'. More details. The second Geary Lecture of 2010 was given on 25 November by Professor Canice Prendergast, W. Allen Wallis Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. More details.
