The Institute’s researchers work in teams, producing research that seeks to combine academic excellence with a policy focus. They also collaborate in formal and informal networks with researchers elsewhere in Ireland, Europe and the OECD countries. There are over 150 ESRI research alumni. Many of these alumni are currently in senior academic posts in universities in Ireland, the UK and the US, while others have contributed directly to policy making through their engagement in politics, the civil and public service, international organisations, and voluntary and private sector bodies.
