ESRI - UCC Energy Research Workshop

Venue: ESRI, Whitaker Square, Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2

 

This half-day multidisciplinary research workshop will focus on recent work by researchers at UCC and ESRI on a range of current energy policy issues. Both engineering and economic perspectives will be explored, and topics will cover aspects of energy policy; residential energy efficiency; energy markets; and implications for the economy. 

 

National Energy Policy 

  1. Review of Irish Energy Policy – John FitzGerald and Laura Malaguzzi Valeri.
  2. Implications of Ireland Moving to Low Carbon Energy Roadmap - Brian Ó Gallachóir, Paul Deane, John Curtis, Alessandro Chiodi and Maurizio Gargiulo. 

Residential Energy 

  1. Better information on residential energy use may deter investment in efficiency: case study of a smart metering trial – Daire McCoy and Seán Lyons.

Gas & Electricity markets

Energy and the Economy
