Launch of new Growing Up in Ireland report – Maternal Health Behaviours and Child Growth in Infancy

Venue: St Andrew's Resource Centre, 114 - 116 Pearse Street, Dublin 2

The Growing Up in Ireland study team cordially invites you to the launch of its latest report, Maternal Health Behaviours and Child Growth in Infancy by Richard Layte and Cathal McCrory.

The report will be launched by Dr James Reilly T.D., Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.

Using data from the first wave of data collection with the Growing Up in Ireland Infant Cohort (undertaken at age 9 months), this report looks at the prenatal and early life environment that a child experiences and how this influences their health in infancy and subsequent pattern of physical and mental development. The report examines factors such as maternal smoking and alcohol consumption in pregnancy; breastfeeding behaviours; and child birthweight and growth in early infancy
