The ESRI values the assistance received from various support groups in its aim to maintain and improve accurate clinical coding in Ireland. The ESRI seeks advice and relies on these groups to provide clinical and coding advice. Classification and Coding Group - C&CGThe C&CG meet every month and its membership is made up of clinicians and clinical coding experts.This group address coding issues from a classification and clinical perspective and provide information and feedback on both national groups and local matters. National Coding Advisory Committee - NCACThis committee provides advice on matters concerning the HIPE data collection process and issues relating to national coding guidelines. This committee has representation from Clinical Coding Ireland (CCI), HIPE and Casemix Co-ordinators (HCCs), the Department of Health and Children (DoH&C) and clinical input. Dr Willie Reardon FRCPDr Willie Reardon, FRCP Dr. Reardon, Consultant Clinical Geneticist at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin, The National Maternity Hospital Holles St and Limerick Regional Hospital, provides clinical support to the Health Research and Information Division. We are delighted to have him as a part of the team to strengthen the clinical support available to the HIPE system. |
