Survey Interviewers

The Economic and Social Research Institute, in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin is carrying out the Growing Up in Ireland study on behalf of the Department of Health and Children in association with the Department of Social and Family Affairs and the Central Statistics Office. This is an in-depth study of children and their development over time. It involves using a laptop computer to administer detailed questionnaires in the homes and schools of children who participate in the study. We are now seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates to form a panel of potential survey interviewers. Further information

Unsolicited job offers by email

Since July 2008 we have had reports from individuals, particularly in North America, that they have received emails purporting to come from the human resource manager at the ESRI (different names are used e.g. Dr Greg Bowman, Dr Michael Carl, Dr Jimmy Cummings, Dr James English, Dr Henry Martin) and offering an opportunity to earn money by processing payments from clients & donors.

The Institute does not recruit people in this way. Please forward any such emails to us so that we can report them to the appropriate authorities.

You should also forward the email to the service provider concerned, i.e. to gmail, yahoo, etc. and alert them to the use of their service for phishing.

Recruitment Policy

Most vacancies at the ESRI are advertised on this website page.  Vacancies are also advertised on recruitment websites, particularly on www.gradireland.com and on www.irishjobs.ie, and some are also advertised in the Irish daily newspapers.

Because of the ESRI's reputation as a centre of excellence in economic and social research, we receive many requests for placements and work experience opportunities.  While we are seldom in a position to assist we do aim to acknowledge all correspondence.
