Maria Martinez-Cillero joined the Economic Analysis Division at the ESRI as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in November 2017. Her research will focus on financing and investment of SMEs in Ireland and other European countries. Prior to that, she held a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the Agricultural Economics and Farm Surveys Department in Teagasc.
Maria obtained two undergraduate degrees in Law and Political Sciences at Universidad Carlos II (Madrid, Spain), followed by a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics from NUI, Galway. She completed a PhD in University College Dublin in 2017. Her research on agricultural economics included the analysis of farm level technical efficiency and productivity in Ireland and other European competitors, as well as the exploration of several factors on farm economic performance.
