Peter Shanley

Peter Shanley was awarded a Research Fellowship from the ESRI (1969-1970) to study Law at Cambridge University. He was a former chairman of the Bar Council and had also served as a councillor in Dun Laoghaire. Mr Shanley had been a clerk in the ESB prior to studying law. He was called to the Bar in l968 and became a senior counsel in l982. He had practiced law for 23 years before he was appointed as a Judge of the High Court in 1996. He died in August 1998.
