David Madden

David Madden was a Research Assistant in the ESRI from 1982 until 1984. He was awarded a Research Fellowship from the ESRI (1984-1986) to complete an MPhil at Nuffield College Oxford. Following various posts in NUI Maynooth, the Ministry of Health, Kaduna, Nigeria, the Central Bank of Ireland, Davy Stockbrokers and AIB, he joined the lecturing staff of the School of Economics at University College Dublin in 1991 and completed a PhD in 1994. He is currently Associate Professor and Head of the School of Economics. His research interests are in the areas of health economics and human resource economics (e.g. poverty, inequality).
