Sally Shortall

Sally Shortall was a Research Assistant in the ESRI from 1988 until 1990. She was awarded a Research Fellowship from the ESRI to study at McGill University, Canada from 1991 until 1993. She then worked with NESC in Dublin before joining the staff of Queen?s University Belfast. She is a Reader in Sociology and was previously Director of the Gibson Institute for Land, Food and Environment. Her main research interests are rural development theory, policy, and practice; social changes in farming practice; and the role of women on farms and in rural development.
