Terry Baker joined the ESRI in 1964 having worked in Tanzania and in the UK. He spent the rest of his career at the Institute, and, with the exception of a 10 year period, was the main author of the Institute?s Quarterly Economic Commentary (QEC). He initiated the QEC in 1968 in response to a need for commentary on Ireland?s economic performance and for short-term economic forecasts. His ESRI publications can be accessed on the ESRI website. He retired in 1999 and died in January 2010. See http://www.esri.ie/irish_economy/quarterly_economic_commen/terry_baker/
