During his time at the ESRI from 2004 until 2006, Kieran Coleman was a Research Assistant in the Social Research Division where he worked on issues relating to income tax and welfare policy, the labour market, and poverty and income distribution. In 2006 he joined the Competition Authority as an Economist Case Officer. Since joining the Competition Authority Kieran has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law from Kings College London.
The ESRI works towards a national vision of ‘Informed policy for a better Ireland’. This means producing high-quality analysis to provide robust evidence for policymaking, with the goals of research excellence and policy impact.
The ESRI produces research that contributes to understanding economic and social change in the new international context and that informs public policymaking and civil society in Ireland.
