John Copeland was a Research Assistant in the ESRI from 1972 until 1974. During his two years at the Institute he worked with Brendan Walsh on a study of the reform of local government taxation in Ireland, and on a study of the cost of capital to Irish industry. He moved to the Central Bank in January 1975. He died early that year in a tragic accident at the age of 24.
