Damian Hannan was a Research Professor in the ESRI from 1967 until his retirement in 2000, apart form a period as Professor of Sociology in University College Cork from 1971 until 1976. He was a founder member of the European Network on Transitions in Youth. He was the Royal Irish Academy?s Irish representative on the Standing Committee for the Social Sciences of the ESF. He published extensively on education and labour market integration processes in both Irish and international journals and books. His ESRI publications can be accessed on the ESRI website.
