Brian Nolan was on the research staff of the ESRI from 1987 to 2007, and served as Head of the Social Policy Research Division. He is currently Professor of Public Policy in the School of Applied Social Science, University College Dublin. His research interests include poverty; income inequality; the economics of social policy and health economics. He is a member of the Royal Irish Academy since 2008.
