William (Bill) Roche

William (Bill) Roche was awarded a Research Fellowship from the ESRI (1979-1982) to study for a PhD at Nuffield College, Oxford, where he went on to become Heyworth Memorial Prize Research Fellow. He has held visiting professorships at the University of South Australia, Adelaide and at the University of Melbourne. He was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute, Florence. He was the first Dean of the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, where he was also Director of Research and Head of the doctoral programme. He is currently Professor of Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in UCD.
