Both CSO and SEAI publish statistics on BER ratings providing insight on the distribution of energy efficiency within residential buildings. This research primarily focuses on people, providing insight into what family types live in the most energy inefficient properties. For example the research suggests that 1-in-2 people aged 65+ live in the bottom three BER categories (E, F or G) compared to roughly 1-in-3 for the wider population.
