Environmental Policy and Projections for Ireland18 February 2010This seminar reflected the importance of the issues for Irish society and was the first of the special events to mark the Institute's fiftieth birthday. The seminar was introduced by Laura Burke of the Environmental Protection Agency, who also launched the final report of the ISus project. Copies of the presentations can be downloaded below.
Future emissions targets and international climate policy27 August 2009This seminar focussed on national and international climate policy. Copies of the presentations can be found below.
The Future of Ireland's Environment3 December 2008The ESRI and Teagasc, funded by the EPA, have been working to extend the well-known ESRI forecasts of the economy to include emissions and resource use. The national component of this project is now completed, with projections of waste generation, energy use, and emissions to air from 20 sectors for 2009-2025. This seminar presented methods, results and policy implications.
