The ESRI currently employs over 100 full and part-time staff broadly organised into five divisions:
- Economic Analysis
- Social Research
- Health Research and Information
- Children's Longitudinal Survey (Growing Up in Ireland Survey)
- Corporate Services
In addition to the staff based in the ESRI offices in Dublin, the Institute has a number of associates who contribute regularly to its work.
All the Institute's researchers have high levels of academic attainment and expertise. They are encouraged to publish widely in peer-reviewed academic journals as well as in ESRI publications. They are encouraged to work in cooperation with other research institutes and with third-level institutions and a number of them are members of European wide networks involved in collaborative research projects.
