The distributional impact of the Affordable Childcare Scheme

Budget 2019 saw changes to the Affordable Childcare Scheme subsidies – most notably an increase in the point at which the subsidy begins to be withdrawn along with a higher maximum income threshold. This report will examine the impact of these changes and examine how many, and what type, of families will benefit from the revised subsidy and by how much. This research is funded by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection, the Department of Health, the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, the Department of Finance and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
