Andrew joined the ESRI in 2017 as an Executive Officer on Growing up in Ireland. Previous to this Andrew worked in the animation industry for a number of years in production management. Andrew has also worked as a researcher at Dublin City University (on civic engagement, foresight planning and sustainable development) and at the University of Liverpool. During his time in Liverpool he worked on Home Office and Office of the Deputy Prime Minster funded research projects focusing on spatial planning. Andrew holds a BA in Geography with Sociology from Trinity College Dublin; a MSc in Natural Resource Management from the University of Leicester; and a Master of Civic Design and a PhD from the University of Liverpool. Andrew’s PhD focused on the role of strategic spatial planning as a tool for place focused public policy integration, in terms of its substance, procedures and also culturally within the planning profession and its institutions. Andrew is a qualified urban planner and is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
