Shane joined the ESRI in October 2017 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. With a background in psychology, he is interested in the factors that impact judgement and decision-making in a range of domains. His PhD research, which was conducted with the Reasoning and Imagination Lab in Trinity College Dublin, took an experimental approach to examine the cognitive processes that underlie the moral judgements that people make. He also holds a BA in Psychology and PG Cert in Statistics, both from TCD. Prior to joining the ESRI, Shane taught modules in statistics and research skills at TCD, DCU and American College Dublin and helped to organise TCD’s School of Psychology International Research Seminar Series. He is currently working with the behavioural economics team to apply behavioural science to policy development and implementation.
