James Eighan

Social Research | Research Assistant
James Eighan worked as a Research Assistant with the Health Research Team in the ESRI from January 2016 to June 2018. He holds an MA in Economics from Maynooth University and a BA in History from Trinity College Dublin. For his MA thesis James examined the effect increases in the minimum wage in Ireland had on the employment probabilities of low wage workers.

During his time in the ESRI, James was involved in the development of the HIPPOCRATES model, which projects the demand for healthcare services in Ireland out to 2030. James was also involved in the Inter-Sectoral project, which geographically profiles the supply of community healthcare services (such as physiotherapy) and examines the intersection between the supply of these services and the supply of hospital care. James is currently an economist with Indecon Economic Consultants.
