Niall Bolger was a social psychology Research Assistant at the ESRI. He was awarded a Research Fellowship from the ESRI (1982-1985) to study for a PhD at Cornell University and was awarded the degree in 1987. He spent the following three years as a postdoctoral scholar at the Survey Research Center of the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has been a Professor at Columbia University since 2005, and his current research interests are in individual and dyadic regulation of emotions and in longitudinal data analysis.
