Abstract: The objective of this joint Research Programme between the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), Enterprise Ireland (EI), and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation (DJEI) is to undertake and disseminate research on enterprise behaviour and performance. This research will provide crucial evidence to assist EI and the DJEI in taking a strategic overview of enterprise policy. The first research strand will use newly available, highly detailed information on exporter characteristics, products and destination markets to examine the profile, performance and strategies of Irish indigenous exporters. A second research strand will analyse the links between enterprise innovation, exporting, and productivity. The research results will be published in 2016.
The ESRI works towards a national vision of ‘Informed policy for a better Ireland’. This means producing high-quality analysis to provide robust evidence for policymaking, with the goals of research excellence and policy impact.
The ESRI produces research that contributes to understanding economic and social change in the new international context and that informs public policymaking and civil society in Ireland.
