Adoption of natural gas for residential heating

This Research Bulletin examines how quickly households begin using natural gas once it becomes available in an area. It finds that each additional year the gas network has been in place is associated with a 12 percentage point increase in gas customers, although this rate reaches a plateau after ten years.
