Thomas McCarthy

Thomas McCarthy was awarded a Research Fellowship from the ESRI (1984-1985) to study at Queen?s University, Kingston, Ontario. He returned to Ireland in 1987 to join the Department of Economics at University College Cork. He subsequently joined NUI Maynooth, where he later became Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. After a brief period as Professor of Economics and Dean of the Business School at Dublin City University, he became chief executive of the Irish Management Institute.
