Tracking Gender Balance in the Financial Sector: ESRI as Data Partner for Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter

The ESRI has been appointed as the data partner for Ireland’s Women in Finance Charter, an initiative to promote greater gender equality in the financial sector. Firms signing the charter commit to achieving greater gender balance across their organisations, set targets appropriate to the company, and formulate an action plan to achieve these targets.

As data partner the ESRI will be collecting, analysing, and reporting on data collected from Charter signatories. This will include information on the gender composition of the workforce, as well as progress towards targets and actions implemented to create greater gender balance.

The project is funded by the Banking & Payments Federation Ireland, Ibec, Insurance Ireland, and the Irish Fund Industry Association. The steering group for the project will be chaired by the Department of Finance.

Samples of the baseline and annual reporting templates can be found below. Signatory companies with queries about completing the templates can contact the research team at womeninfinance@esri.ie

Further details on the Charter and guidelines for signatories will be available on the Balance for Better Business website.

The closing date for the survey is Friday, 2nd February 2024.
