Growing Up in Ireland: Key findings from the special COVID-19 survey of Cohorts ’98 and ‘08

This new short report presents the first results of the online survey of Growing Up in Ireland participants about their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The short survey, hosted by the Central Statistics Office on behalf of Growing Up in Ireland, was completed in December 2020. There were three groups of participants; 12-year-olds and their parents (from Cohort ’08) and young adults aged 22 years (from Cohort ’98).

The topics which participants were asked about included: changes to their lifestyles as a result of the pandemic; the adequacy of resources for home learning; changes to their employment status; well-being; and their perceptions of COVID-19 in terms of vulnerable family members and sources of information.
