Guest speaker: Dr Aidan Kane, Head of Economics at NUI Galway.

Seminar topic: This presentation will analyse data gathered as part of the Duanaire project and examine trade between Ireland and the Baltic region during the 18th century.

Speaker bio: Dr Aidan Kane is Head of Economics and a member of the Whitaker Institute at NUI Galway. His research interests are principally in Irish economic history, and in particular, the construction of historical datasets. Dr Kane established Duanaire, which gathers data on Irish economic history data, and in particular, Irish fiscal history data.
