Productivity levels in Ireland and Northern Ireland

This event, co-hosted by Queen's University Belfast, will discuss a recent ESRI/Shared Island report Modelling productivity levels in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

This report examines sectoral productivity differences in Ireland and Northern Ireland. It attempts to understand these differences by identifying the key determinants of productivity in both economies.

Among its key findings, it found that productivity per worker was approximately 40% higher in Ireland compared to Northern Ireland.

This interactive event will bring together stakeholders from the two jurisdictions to discuss the report. The event features a presentation of the report's main findings, a panel response and a Q&A segment.

This research is part of a joint research programme between the Department of Taoiseach’s Shared Island Unit and the ESRI on the economic and social opportunities from increased cooperation on the Shared Island.
