Save the Date - Car Ownership in Ireland: Causes, Costs and Consequences.

Car ownership plays a central role in how people access employment, essential services and participate in daily life, but it also carries significant financial, social and environmental implications. This half‑day conference will present new evidence, from research funded by the Department of Transport, on why households acquire and retain cars, how the costs of car ownership are perceived, and how transport availability shapes decisions to learn to drive and patterns of car dependence over the life course.
