Growing Up in Ireland  – the National Longitudinal Study of Children, will hold its twelfth annual research conference on Thursday, 22 October 2020. The conference will focus on research based on Growing Up in Ireland (GUI) data.

The Growing Up in Ireland Study Team invites you to Growing Up in Ireland’s 12th Annual Research Conference to be held online on Thursday 22nd October 2020. The event will be opened by Minister Dr Roderic O’Gorman T.D. who will also announce the recipient of the DCYA award for best policy paper at the conference.

Keynote Speaker:  This year the keynote address will be delivered by Professor Emla Fitzsimons from University College London. Professor Fitzsimons is the Director of the UK’s Millennium Cohort Study, which has many parallels with Growing Up in Ireland, and she has a particular research interest in the development of human capital and skills over the life course. Professor Fitzsimons will speak on the topic of ‘Mental health among young people: longitudinal evidence from the UK’.

Booking: There is no fee for the conference and places must be booked in advance, places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
