Webinar: Deprived children in Ireland: characterising those who are deprived but not income-poor

This webinar will launch a new report entitled Deprived children in Ireland: characterising those who are deprived but not income-poor by Helen Russell, Eva Slevin, and Bertrand Maître.

This research is part of a joint research programme between the ESRI and the Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE).

The report analyses the socio-economic circumstances of children in Ireland who are materially deprived but not classified as income poor (AROP), using data from the Survey of Income and Living Conditions (SILC). The study finds that many children among the deprived non-AROP group are living in households where financial, health and wellbeing strains are common and are often comparable to or worse than those in consistent poverty.
