Contrasting Housing Supply in Ireland and Northern Ireland

In this Shared Island research project, funded by the Department of Taoiseach, the provision of housing across the British and Irish housing markets will be examined. In particular, the key determinants of housing supply and how these have varied across the different markets will be assessed and contrasted. The research will focus on the structure of the respective housing markets and how variations in regulatory systems (e.g., planning, zoning, role of local government etc.), housing market structures (e.g., house prices, levels of private and public housing demand), demographics and socio-economic issues have impacted the level of housing supply
