Health Insurance

Beginning in Spring 2020, a new research programme funded by the Health Insurance Authority will investigate consumer choices of health insurance plans in Ireland. The first stage will be diagnostic, aimed at evaluating consumer understanding and decision-making in existing health insurance markets. The second stage will test potential ways to improve consumer choices, through the development of more behaviourally-informed comparison tools, based on the evidence provided by the first study. Results are expected in Autumn 2020.
