Luke joined the ESRI in June 2022. He holds an MSc in Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Social Data Science from Trinity College Dublin, where he was awarded a Foundational Scholarship and a Gold Medal.
His MSc thesis used aggregate and panel-level data on Irish consumers to estimate demand and income elasticities and test the predictions of microeconomic theory. He is also interested in econometric applications of data scientific techniques.
Luke is currently a research assistant in the Tax, Welfare, and Pensions divison, working on the ESRI's tax-benefits microsimulation model SWITCH.
