ESRI researchers address the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Climate, Environment and Energy

On 10 December 2025, ESRI researchers John Curtis and Niall Farrell addressed the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Climate, Environment and Energy.

Drawing on ESRI research, they analysed the primary policy options to tackle energy affordability — uniform transfers (e.g. energy credits), targeted transfers (e.g. changes to social transfers) and changes to energy prices (e.g. VAT rate changes).
