Marie Hyland

Marie Hyland holds a B. Comm. International (French) from NUI, Galway and an MA in Economics from UCD. During her MA, Marie worked as a teaching assistant, and also spent a number of months working as a research assistant in the Geary Institute, UCD. As a research analyst she is working on projects in the area of energy economics. Some of the work that Marie has undertaken while at the ESRI includes an estimation of the drivers of energy demand in Ireland, environmental input-output analyses, estimating the value of home energy efficiency and an analysis of energy use among Irish manufacturing firms. In 2012 Marie enrolled as a part-time PhD student in the Department of Economics in Trinity College Dublin, and in 2014 was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to spend six months as a visiting student researcher at the University of Maryland.
