Sarah joined the ESRI in August 2021 as a research assistant with the Social Research Division. She holds a BA in psychology from Trinity College Dublin and completed a masters in cognitive science at University College Dublin. Sarah recently submitted her PhD thesis with the School of Law at Trinity College and is awaiting her viva. Her PhD research examines accountability among senior staff in the Irish Prison Service, with a particular emphasis on their experiences with human rights-led forms of prison oversight.
With the ESRI, Sarah is currently working on research in the areas of Social Inclusion and Equality and Migration, Integration, and Demography. Her research interests also include criminology and penal reform, social inclusion, and mixed methods research.
