Juan Duran Vanegas

Juan joined the ESRI in November 2022 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Economic Analysis Division after completing his PhD in Economics at Trinity College Dublin. His main research interests include regional economics, international trade, and labour economics.  Juan is currently working on examining the economic and spatial impacts of foreign direct investment in Ireland and other European countries as part of the research team in the area of Competitiveness, Trade and FDI.  

Juan holds an MSc in Economics and a BA degree from the National University of Colombia (UNAL). He previously worked as a Research Economist at the Colombian Banking Association and the Colombian Securitization Company.
