Rebecca Wetter

 Rebecca Wetter joined the Economic and Social Research Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Social Research Division in April 2026. She completed her PhD in Sociology at the Free University Berlin, while working as a Research Fellow at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. Her doctoral research examined the formation of meritocratic beliefs and their role in legitimizing and reproducing educational inequality. Following her PhD, she held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Potsdam, contributing to an interdisciplinary project on multidimensional classroom heterogeneity.

Her main research interests include educational and social inequalities, the experiences of different student groups, and quantitative research methods.
