Seán Lyons specialises in applied microeconomics and policy modelling, and he manages the ESRI research programme on health service reform. His current research focuses on the effects of local environmental quality on public health and on economic and social aspects of electronic communications.
Seán has a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a BA in History from TCD. He joined the ESRI in 2007, having previously worked in economic consultancy and regulation. He is a member of the National Environmental Research Coordination Group, the Council of the Statistical and Social Inquiry Society of Ireland, and the National Radon Control Strategy Coordination Group.
